The Street Light National Programme would be basically replacing all street bulbs in the country with energy-efficient LED lights. Its aims include bringing down energy consumption, costs, and quality of lighting for streets of India as well as for future generations' sustainability. Replacing regular sodium-vapor and mercury-vapor lamps, SLNP has a clear edge as it provides huge savings in electric bills and cuts carbon footprints.

The Street Light National Programme (SLNP) is one of India’s most impactful energy efficiency initiatives, launched by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). The programme aims to replace conventional street lights with energy-efficient LED street lights across urban and rural areas, significantly reducing electricity consumption and maintenance costs.
